Reef Tagger is a marine species identification and citizen science platform operated by Cool Coral Labs. It allows users to photograph, identify, and log marine species sightings, contributing to conservation research.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Reef Tagger. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm you have the consent of a parent or guardian. Accounts found to belong to users under 13 will be removed.

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
• You must not share your account or allow others to access it.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete account.

You retain ownership of photos and content you upload. By submitting content to Reef Tagger, you grant Cool Coral Labs a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and use your content for the purpose of operating the app and supporting conservation research.

Anonymised, non-identifiable versions of your sighting data (species, approximate location, date) may be shared with verified conservation researchers and government bodies to support marine biodiversity research. This is described in detail in our Privacy Policy.

You must not upload content that is:

• Illegal, harmful, abusive, or defamatory.
• Someone else's copyrighted work without permission.
• Misleading, such as false species identifications submitted intentionally.
• Unrelated to marine life or the purpose of the app.

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, or misleading.
• Misidentify species intentionally or submit false data.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures.
• Use automated tools or bots to interact with the service.
• Share access to your account with others.
• Scrape, harvest, or systematically collect data from the platform.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to restricted areas (conservation portal, admin panel).

Free accounts include up to 30 AI-powered species identifications per month. Your allowance resets at the start of each calendar month. We reserve the right to adjust these limits at any time. Abuse of the service may result in reduced limits or account suspension.

Reef Tagger uses artificial intelligence to suggest species identifications. These suggestions are provided as a guide only and may not always be accurate. You are responsible for verifying identifications before treating them as fact. Cool Coral Labs accepts no liability for decisions made based on AI-generated identifications.

Aggregated, anonymised sighting data may be shared with conservation organisations and researchers to support marine biodiversity efforts. Personal information is never shared without your consent. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

All app design, code, branding, and non-user-generated content is the property of Cool Coral Labs and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or use it without our written permission.

Reef Tagger is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be available at all times or that species identifications will be accurate. Use of the app while diving or snorkelling is at your own risk — always follow safe diving practices.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cool Coral Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Reef Tagger. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without notice. You may also terminate your account at any time via the app.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Reef Tagger after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Australia.
